Toni Higgins’ daughter has been attending COA’s Early Education Center since she was six weeks old. Last year, Toni noticed that some of the children were in need of new winter gear.

Toni, a member of the volunteer planning committee at We Energies, proposed a winter gear drive to benefit COA’s Early Education Center. After the drive was held in October, Toni and friends from We Energies came to COA on November 4th to deliver the donation of hats, mittens and winter coats for all children enrolled. There were even extra items that will be kept in each classroom until they are needed.

We Energies has a strong commitment to supporting it’s customers and the communities in which they live. Toni said of COA and the drive, “COA’s Early Education Center has been a blessing to my family! It was a pleasure to support the agency that cares for my daughter every day. On behalf of all who donated items, we were proud to help.”

For nine consecutive years, COA has received a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, a national evaluator of nonprofit organizations. Only one percent of the nation's charities have received the highest four-star rating for twelve consecutive years.
